Cypress Hill 1991 Radio Interview in Los Angeles

B-Real, Sen and Muggs sit down at a Los Angeles radio station to discuss their debut album, during the heavy underground circulation of their classic single, How I Could Just Kill A Man. When I look back I'm amazed at the amount of recognition a song like this received, even without mainstream support it seemed like a hit to me, sort of like a slow burn which eventually gained momentum into higher levels of media. I think I remember the comedian John Leguizamo dancing like a fool to the song on TV at one point in time, lol. It was nice that a large part of the overall market of hip hop around this time was based on these grimey hoodlums who had talent, so enough light was available for Cypress and others to thrive and do their thing, the clean, cookie-cutter party commercial sound was nowhere in sight.

In this interview the 3 members speak like regular, humble guys who are starting their career and uncertain of what is to come, or the impact they would eventually leave on hip hop. It's a down to earth and humorous discussion about their life in L.A., the meaning behind some of their songs and future plans.
