Ol' Dirty Bastard, Ason Unique, Russell Jones 1968-2004

Here are a few of my favorite moments of the late Wu Tang Clan member I would like to share to commemorate his life and career, fortunately I have some good material going back to his early days in the industry. Ol' Dirty was an unforgettable performer, comedic talent and personality in hip hop, his contribution is more than appreciated by me. RIP.

Ol' Dirty Bastard & Cappadonna on Future Flavors Radio w Pete Rock & Marley Marl in 1997 (full hour episode with interview and freestyles). The episode is more a focus on Cappa than Ol' Dirty, it's promoting his album The Pillage. There are some funny moments of ODB throughout it though, he starts singing at the end of the show.

1995 TV Interview, Phone Calls & Freestyle. This was just before the release of his first album, he gets up and starts rhyming in the middle of the interview.

O.D.B. Breaks: a mix of funk and soul records sampled and used throughout his catalogue, some nice stuff to relax and listen to on a weekend. You'll gain a new appreciation for the sound RZA and others gave Dirty when listening to this, manipulating slow songs about love and happiness from Soul vocalists into the raw, chaotic sound heard on his albums.
