If this is what I can expect from the future of Jazz, then I am excited. On "Post Suite" by Floating Points Ensemble, composer Sam Shepherd provides an epic sound of Jazz, one which is very spiritual and soulful. The instrumentation of "Post Suite" is made up of a full string section, flute, trumpet, saxophone, percussion, guitar and keys, a composition of sound which plays beautifully against Fatima's soothing vocals.
This track along with it's b-side "Almost In Profile" was recorded and mixed at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, initially for the Ninja Tune XX box set which marked the label’s 20th anniversary.
