I love Soul tunes like this which inspire the feeling of escapism and having a good time, especially those where you can hear the voices of random people in the background like a party adding onto the party vibe of the song. Many Soul and Jazz artists of the 70's accomplished this vibe in their own way, but "(Do) What Ever Turns You On" really personifies the style of party atmosphere sounds produced on deep Soul records of the 60's and 70's.

Hearing the lead singer go buckwild near the end of the song is another trademark element of this genre of Soul that is very entertaining, and evidence of how good a time the recording process of artists from this era usually had.
