When I think about great sounding, funky Jazz fusion, guitarist Larry Coryell definitely comes to mind. The 'Godfather of Fusion is back to join forces with The Wide Hive Players for 13 electrifying new tracks. As an example of Coryell's timeless quality of music, here is "Honey Dijon". As you may tell from the sound, his knack for funky Jazz still remains and has taken on a new tone in collaborating with the Wide Hive Players.

"Honey Dijon" is the lead single from the new album entitled "Larry Coryell With the Wide Hive Players", now available from Wide Hive Records at Amazon.com and iTunes.

From Giant Step:

"Well-known for his driving tone and intricate flurries; Coryell delivers amazing and intense performances atop solid and expansive grooves established by The Wide Hive Players. The Players, now consisting of the enormously talented rhythm section of bassist Matt Montgomery (Calvin Keys and Variable Unit) and Thomas McCree (Lyrics Born's drummer), horn players Mike Rinta (Sly Stone, Santana), Doug Rowan (Jazz Mafia) and pianist Adam Shulman, all contribute to create a cohesive alive sound, reminiscent of Coryell's popular Offerings or Eleventh House era. Primarily Jazz-Funk, the album also glows with overtones of soul, blues, has a definitive rock undercurrent. Overall the record is timeless and current; both reflective of past craftsmanship while remaining progressive and original."
