Enjoy the sights and sounds of a new initiative brought forth by people with a desire to showcase the rich history of funk, and soul music in Durham and Greensboro North Carolina. Also known as the Bull City and Gate City, these areas of NC are a great resource of African American culture and community in the urban South.

Enjoy a selection of songs above and documentary trailer below in a responsive web exhibit which exlores the rich history of soul, funk and R&B music in Durham and Greensboro, NC in the 1960s and '70s. “Gate City Soul” is a documentary film about the Greensboro, North Carolina soul music scene of the 1960′s and 70′s. The film follows the journeys, struggles and accomplishments of Roy Roberts, Walter Grady, George Bishop and a dozen others who chased their dreams of success in the music business during this era.
