The hardships of life in the slums is made to seem a little more easy as the soulful and uplifting organ-based grooves of Galt MacDermot turn joy and pain into a pleasant reality. Joined by the sweet sound of vocalist Angela Ortega, the duo use their artistic approach to turn a frown upside down as they approach songwriting about the dire sights, sounds and emotions of the inner city for music which results in happiness.

"Ghetto Suite" is a compilation of poems written by the children of PS 125M in West Harlem and PS 140X in the Bronx in the 1970s. All songs composed and arranged by Galt MacDermot with Angela Ortega providing vocals.

Download the 2014 digital re-release of "Ghetto Suite" here at iTunes and the vinyl LP here at Dusty Groove.
