Italian Drama Funk & Soul Jazz: Franco Micalizzi's "VIOLENCE!" & Junie Russo's "Love Is A Woman"

"ORIGINAL 1st PRESS RELEASED IN 1978 BY COMETA EDIZIONI MUSICALI ON LIMITED EDITION 500 COPIES FOR COLLECTORS. EARLY NUMBERED COPY #126/500, CATALOG#. CTM 1005/13, ITALY.

Original press of this mega-cult OST by master Franco Micalizzi. The movie by cult director UMBERTO LENZI is from 1977 and the LP was actually released one year later as dated on matrix (6-11-78). This is the Crime/Polizziotesco/Thriller to end all soundtracks, Machine-gun of the best Dark, Suspense and Spy movie sounds played with a central Jazz-Funk and Sleaze Funk mood.
Starring actors like John Saxon, Tomas Milian and Maurizio Merli Italian, about the music we have a superb small Funk Orchestra directed by maestro Micalizzi. The instrumentation features a strong breakbeat driving every track, with hard brass, sleazy guitar and evil flute. The main theme is outstanding and reprised throughout the score. Includes the killer track 'Affanno', made famous by Bboy Cassidy's sample. Incredible Hip-Hop beats and Breaks, Thrilling percussions and Dark Crime/Action themes, aggressive and spooky Funk and Synthesizer. Great for DJs!"

"1st album by Italian singer-songwriter Giuni Russo on this album called "Junie", later specialised in Experimental music after a short stint as art-pop singer in the early '80s. This sought-after and highly-collectable gatefold front-laminated LP presents multi-colored sounds and styles going from Soul-Pop-Jazz to some Blues hints and melt with the decreasing phase of Italian Prog. Rock. Includes anyway some sweet and Easy Listening melodies that wouldn't show them up in some Armando Trovajoli's soundtrack. All of this accompained by great, refined vocal virtuosity. Listen!" - Armagideon Times of SONOR Music Editions
