"Two distinct generations of music are behind Cool Uncle in Bobby Caldwell and Jack Splash. The former will forever be remembered for his 1978 song "What You Won't Do For Love," though there is plenty more to discover in the smooth jazz singer's discography. Splash meanwhile is a modern day super producer, offering behind the buttons expertise on records by Kendrick Lamar, Missy Elliott, Alicia Keys, and many others. Together as Cool Uncle, Caldwell and Splash have conjured a fine 15 track album of jazz-flecked pop and chart fodder funk featuring guest spots from pint-sized crooner Mayer Hawthorne, Cee-Lo, Jessie Ware and Deniece Williams. On the whole it sounds like Caldwell is having the utmost fun."
