John Murtaugh - "Slinky" (70's Moog Jazz Fusion)
John Murtaugh - "Slinky" (70's Moog Jazz Fusion)

"Slinky" by John Murtaugh really shows the interesting sound gained from the 1969 Moog synthesizer when used by a talented composer from a jazz fusion perspective of the 70's. On the album "Blues Current", John Murtaugh uses the fourth Moog ever manufactured, displaying an image of this amazing machine proudly on the back cover. The sound attained on "Slinky" feels mysterious and edgy, but with touches of funky jazz sound throughout for an dark, cinematic sound. John wasn't the only one to have a picture of the Moog on an album, it seemed to be a small trend between more obscure artists of the time who embraced the Moog sound, showing off this new tool of the trade to their listeners.

I had the pleasure to personally know the family and all of the fathers children who all played several instruments professionally and I have two albums by Mr m and I had a great friendship with his youngest son David and to the hear the music from the father himself and two albums that I still have and treasure both the albums and the family personally and it was a special time for me. God Bless. Daniel C from Westbury new York.
