For summer 2022, two talented percussionists each create a moment of serenity as their rhythm drives dreamy musical compositions. The slow burn of "Silent Horizon" by mallet percussionist Angelo Outlaw is a hazy blend of Jazz Funk. Dreamy vibraphone melodies and fuzz guitar flow upon a laid-back rhythm for music that is soothing as it is funky. The heavenly sounds of Makaya McCraven's "Seventh String" also showcase vibraphone, but with a greater emphasis on strings which dominate the track. Makaya's energetic rhythm drives the sounds of mallets, flute and vibes which weave together for an arrangement that is truly pleasant.
