This 2025 trailer for The Whole Darn Family Documentary offers a story of the Richmond, VA band who created the renowned break "7 Minutes Of Funk". This groove was the foundation for classics by Jay-Z, DJ Premier, Grandmaster Flash, and dozens more.

This ain't the usual love Soul song you're used to hearing. On this 1968 45", Calvin Arnold loves his woman like he does man's best friend on the rare single "Scoobie-Do". The love that Calvin expressed on this swinging tune would eventually inspire Big Daddy Kane to pen a tune that encourages Black people to love themselves. 

Check out one of the original samples for "Who Am I?" on this 45, an inspirational song from The Kan's 3rd album "Taste Of Chocolate". What is a joyful Soul tune above is transformed by Hip Hop into a powerful reflection of the African American journey below.
