With a joyful sound of music, Sunny Daze revive the timeless verses of Grand Puba Maxwell on their 2013 release "I Like It" b/w "The Jam". This project picks right up where Puba left off in the early 90's to revive the Brand Nubian MC. Dope rhymes meet live Soul and Funk instrumentation, in the vein of Puba's work on The Brand New Heavies "Heavy Rhyme Experience" LP.

This clip is one of those which really displays the qualities of performance and personality demonstrated by MCs during the 1980's. Complete with dance moves, Grand Puba and Dr. Who perform a crack-era Hip Hop classic together on a low budget TV program. Watching the energy and enthusiasm which comes out of each MC is a sharp contrast to the morbid and depressing lyrics which each speak of about an epidemic which ran rampant in the New York streets during the time of this performance.

Keeping in thumping in 2013 with a track which fits the early 2000 New York underground Hip Hop sound of Rawkus Records, German producer Terpentilo provides he head-nod on his remix of "7xl". If you miss the sound of independent New York Hip Hop of this era, enjoy and refresh your ears as Terp revives a distinct sound. Drums bang against the inspiring sound of a piano loop to carry the flows of Puba, Sadat and Menelik for a remix which projects a light vibe similar to the original.
