Funk Composer Henryk Debich Captures The Memory & Atmosphere of Poland

"From disco (la) partying to intriguing search for colours. A captivating photograph from the times when the Łódź orchestra under the baton of Henryk Debich walked in funky rhythms and carefully looked to the sides, looking for inspiration both in the avant-garde and in the hits of the time.

The recordings that fill "Memory" are a logical development of the ideas initiated on the cult longplay "String Beat". It can be heard that in 1976 the Polish Radio Orchestra in Łódź proved itself both in short, dance forms and in more experimental scores. That is why on "Memory" juicy, funky rhythms ("Puma", "Jump without a pole") are adjacent to impressionistic forms straight from the world of film music ("To the Goal"). There is also room for sonoristic madness and a subtle cover of Stevie Wonder.

The material comes from the original, archival tapes of the Orchestra from the archives of the Polish Radio Łódź. The whole thing has been remastered. The publication continues the series documenting the achievements of the PRiTV Orchestra in Łódź. To be continued soon!" - GAD Records

"The second collection of archival records by Orchestra of Polish Radio Łódź led by Henryk Debich is a mixture of funk, soul and the most beautiful string sounds in the world. “Horyzonty” was a must soundtrack for any trip across Poland behind the wheel of Fiat 125p. You just needed to pick up your food supplies, a back-up fuel can, and the record with tracks which would definitely brighten up your voyage. A bon voyage. "
