Monica Blaire Joins HouseShoes On Soul Circle, Features On BB Boogie, Ozay Moore LPs

"Show #179 was a double feature of Detroit's finest, Singer/songwriter Monica Blaire who debut on Soul Circle Radio with a live performance! Since her debut album "Portraits of Me" (2006), she has worked with some of best that includes, Dwele, Andres, Zo!, Waajeed, Theo Parrish, plus local MCs Miz Korona, Marv Won, Invincible, and Guilty Simpson. Be on the look out for for her upcoming new releases this year. Of course, we couldn't just have one guest from Detroit without having our man, House Shoes (Street Corner Music)!

Big ups to Uncle Shoes who was responsible in connecting us with Monica as well all the artists he's introduced us to in the past! Rich Medina said it best, "House Shoes is the ultimate connector". The brother surely has a way with connecting folks and exposing some really dope talents! Two of the D's finest surely was on display for show 179! We hope you enjoy this one!" - Soul Circle Radio

Collin Venuto uses crisp graphics and monochrome photography to represent the memory of Jay Dee in Akai drum machine-inspired visual style for KicDrum Clothing. With the combination of MPC3000 imagery and logo style merged with Dilla's portrait, this shirt design is for fans to wear proudly as a symbol of a producer who innovated a new direction of sample-based music.

This is a lovingly and expertly constructed journey through the building blocks of Dilla’s beats – the dusty OG vinyl grooves that he sampled. From the basis of a Frank-N-Dank cult favorite, through that of a Fantastic SV moment, to Donuts’ irresistible ingredients, Shoes’ thorough work shines the light on his friend’s ear for a sneaky loop, his affection for perfectly imperfect chops and his knack for extracting the soul from a forgotten musical fragment and making it something altogether new, something his own.
