These are 2 seriously funky pieces of music. On "Persuasion" (Feat. Olivier Day Soul & Sean Price) German production duo JR&PH7 use their knack for soulful sample-based production to make a Hip Hop banger out of the rhythm section from Jazz organist Jimmy McGriff
's 1970 song "Bird Wave". The energy on both songs is great and as sample architects, JR&PH7 make you realize how well orchestrated the horn section of McGriff's "Bird Wave" is in creating a contemporary interpretation on the Jazz organists' classic.
Gotta love an MC like Torae who comes through to inspire us all with his fearless and focused vision of life through music. Australian producer Flip provides a nice remix to the 4th single release off JR&PH7's "The Update", a track which parallels the style of JR&PH7' soulful, drum-heavy production sound.

's "The Update" in stores now on Soulspazm Records / Foundation Media.
Sean Price takes a break from his travels in Germany to drop a quick verse over the banging instrumental of JR & PH7's "Top Rank", a song which originally features Black Milk and Guilty Simpson. Germany looks interesting, I hope I can make it out there from New York one day.

The German production duo of JR & PH7 is back with an exciting collaboration with Blu and The Waxolutionists for a song off "The EP", a prelude to their upcoming sophomore release "The Update" on SoulSpazm records. This remix of "Steel Remains" goes above and beyond the average Hip Hop song as the two bring a combination of traditional Soul sampling aesthetic and drum heavy sound combined with futuristic, well blended synth composition for a display of their unique production style. Watch out for these guys, they are collaborating with many of the best of the underground to provide music that push the envelope of creativity but hold true to the traditional sounds and ideas that create memorable Hip Hop music.
