With the wisdom of the elders and young people's energy at their side, John Legend and Common use the power of music to aim for the sky as the voice of the oppressed emerging into the light "Glory". Music from the movie "Selma" in theatres on 12/25/14.
I really appreciate this latest offering by The Roots and John Legend as excellence in authentic, contemporary Soul music revival, re-introducing classics that not only helped shaped the genre, but some of which have lent an undeniable influence upon Hip Hop.
With the new generation of talented musicians such as The Roots and John Legend who are deep rooted in the sounds of Hip Hop as well as Soul, we will most likely continue to witness a new type of revival of this classic sound of the 60's and 70's. A revival which is different from the crate digger, DJ and/or Hip Hop producer who introduces this great sound to you through their record collection and production, but one which displays musicians and performers in their element channelling the most exciting elements of the genre known as Soul.

This is a surprise duet performance of Ordinary People at the 2010 Monster Cable awards show in Las Vegas. I'm glad to see these guys together again after their live tribute to MJ, hopefully we can get some collaborative musical releases from them soon!
