On Saturday, June 21st, 2014 the Bronx Music Heritage Center honored hip hop pioneer DJ Kool Herc as a Bronx Living Legend. The tribute concert, curated by Bronx hip hop group Rebel Diaz, featured Grandmaster Caz, Grandmaster Melle Mel, Grand Wizzard Theodore, Sadat X, AG, Circa 95, YC the Cynic, Bocafloja, and others.
The outdoor concert attracted over 500 attendees to Louis Niné Boulevard as part of WHEDco and the BMHC's Bronx Summer Fest on the Boulevard.

In January 2012 Davey D has blessed YouTube with a collection of his interviews with notable figures in Hip Hop, speaking with pioneers such as Kool Herc, Afrika Bambaataa, Prince Whipper Whip and The Crash Crew, to Golden Era greats such as Ice-T and newer artists who are currently on their path to greatness such as Jean Grae and Killer Mike. With 7 hours in total time, this is a great collection of insight into the minds of people who represent Hip Hop to the fullest with inspiring stories and thought-provoking opinions to share.
