French online magazine Funk ★ U offers a rare recording of a performance by Brooklyn New York Funk band Mandrill recorded in 1974 on KCRW radio New Yorker. The program features music from their self-titled 1970 album, "Mandrill Is" (1972), "Composite Truth" and "Just Outside of Town" (1973). Enjoy the sounds of a band who fused Funk and Rock music like none other for a distinctively raw sound while providing a musical resource for classic Hip Hop songs by EPMD, De La Soul, Nas and Kanye to name a few.
