Composed of DJ P.F. Cuttin' and rapper Outloud, Blahzay Blahzay made significant noise back in the mid-90's with their standout approach to Hip Hop. Revisit the group live on the set of their video "Pain I Feel" as they express their disdain for all these weak rappers steady makin' hits in '96. VJ Ralph McDaniels spins some of the best Hip Hop of the time in-between the interview with Blahzay Blahzay.
From 1994 with the 20th anniversary celebration of The Zulu Nation to 1997 with the release of The Firm, Ralph McDaniels' Video Music Box catches up with Hip Hop royalty on the brink of creating history. A Tribe Called Quest perform songs from their newly-released 3rd LP "Midnight Marauders" while Foxy Brown, NaS & AZ interview from a photo shoot and Chuck Chillout kicks it with a host of Hip Hop heavyweights.
There's no doubt that cratesofjr owes many of it's views to the legendary filmography of VJ Ralph McDaniels and it's my pleasure to feature his work here via VHS rips and the new online archive of Getty Images. This world renown picture collection whom are known for supplying media to your favorite print publications and TV shows are not to be slept on for their Hip Hop coverage!
For fans who are known for sticking strictly to The Source, VIBE or XXL, put your magazine down now and head over to Getty for an extensive look into some of the greatest collections of Hip Hop video documentation, including ABC News New York and Video Music Box. Clips include L.L. Cool J's first interview, rare footage of RZA as Prince Rakeem, an early performance by Black Moon and much more.
