Witnessing the devastating loss of life this year alone following multiple tragedies in schools across the country, Burt Bacharach and Rudy Pérez, decided to record “Live To See Another Day.” The song is an exploration about rediscovering one’s faith, compassion and understanding in what has become an agonizingly divisive world. It seeks to inspire hope and empower the listener to reach out to their fellow man, learn to embrace our differences and take the first steps that will disrupt the violence affecting our country and help save the lives of our children. Burt and Rudy have teamed up with Sandy Hook Promise, a national violence prevention organization, to help raise awareness around this vital issue. T


The mission of Sandy Hook Promise is to prevent gun violence before it occurs by training youth and adults across the country how to identify, assess, and get help for someone exhibiting at-risk behaviors. Sandy Hook Promise’s proven Know the Signs programs are focused on mental health & wellness, identification of at-risk behaviors and how to take action and get help before a situation escalates. All net proceeds from “Live To See Another Day” received by the songwriters will be donated directly to Sandy Hook Promise.

"Headlesshunters Jazz Session" is sure to excite your taste for the sound of Jazz fusion and remind you of classics through the modern musical approach of Dela. It's pretty cool to hear someone like Dela who comes from a sampling background to creeating nice cover versions like these.

BIOGRAPHY:

The Decoders are Los Angeles-based producer duo Itai Shapira (producer/engineer & studio/live musician) and Todd Simon (trumpeter/arranger for Mayer Hawthorne, TV On The Radio, The Lions, Quantic, etc.), with heavy contributions from Adam Berg (Grammy nominated producer/engineer), Quincy McCrary on keys (Mayer Hawthorne) and Blake Colie on drums (The Lions of Stones Throw Records) . They just released their first installment of modern-Jamaican Lovers Rock-inspired versions of soul classics they dug up from the vaults of the Music Sales publishing catalogue.

In this first batch, Shapira and Simon have deciphered some Earth, Wind and Fire, Minnie Riperton and even one from Ruby and the Romantics! The project is overseen by the songwriter and producer behind many of Minnie Riperton’s hits - Richard Rudolph.

The Decoders have enlisted the help of vocalists Sy Smith (Macy Gray, Foreign Exchange) original “Baby This Love I Have" songwriter and legendary producer Leon Ware (Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Maxwell), Coco Owino (of Quadron), Kevin Sandbloom and Boston Fielder (of Muthawit). Miguel Atwood Ferguson (Suite For Ma Dukes, Brainfeeder) also makes a guest appearance on the new single "Les Fleurs"
