"Smoke Sumthin'" feat. Ras Kass & Demrick is one of my favorite gems downloaded during The Blog Era. Bink! crafts a thumping soundscape for these MCs to envision the smoke-filled cyphers of The West Coast.
In this interview with former XXL magazine writer Soren Baker, listen as two influential Hip Hop artists share their feelings on how seminal works by super producer Dr. Dre have inspired the direction of their lives and music. DJ Hi-Tek of Reflection Eternal and Demrick of Serial Killers reminisce on "The Chronic" albums with in-depth experiences drawn from their memory which place you back in their shoes of absorbing Hip Hop powerful enough to not only bob heads but impact the direction of Pop culture for years to come.
Courtesy of the YouTube channel dedicated to rare Death Row music, enjoy some demos they dug up from Dre and Snoop above including the original version of "Ratatat-tat".
4 ghetto dwellas unleash the beast by reminiscing vivid thoughts and aggression, showing a person who once known for losing control can take a look back upon themselves in a more mature and focused manner. Nottz Raw sets the tone for Koache, Xzibit and Demrick's reflective storytelling as the streets and talented folk who come from its rough environment paint pictures on "Turn Me Back".
Halloween of 2013 draws the aggression and dark side of Hip Hop sound which many have been waiting for in recent years in the Serial Killers mixtape by Xzibit, B-Real of Cypress Hill & Demrick. Enjoy as these murderous West Coast lyricists let the madness begin over the beats of Nottz, Dj Khalil, Bink!, Ill Bill, Green Lantern and more!
