"Fifty years after its recording, Nineteen Seventy Seven finally comes to light as an essential document of the Brazilian jazz avant-garde. Recorded in 1977 and kept unreleased for decades, the album marks another chapter in the history of Grupo Um, a collective that emerged from Hermeto Pascoal’s creative circle in São Paulo during the height of the military dictatorship's repression." - Far Out Recordings
