If your already familiar with the smooth delivery of this great Blue Note vocalist, you know this tribute from one innovative Jazz artist to another is bound to be something special. As the third album for this label, José pays tribute to his “musical mother” on "Yesterday I Had The Blues: The Music Of Billie Holiday".
The Wayne Boucaud Radio Show speaks with singer, songwriter and producer José James about his fifth album 'While You Were Sleeping' which is set for release June 10 2014. José James speaks about the new direction for this project, the incredible line-up of guests, being a 'self made man' and much more in between a nice selection of Funk and Soul tunes spun by Wayne. Enjoy the sounds of this innovative and soulful Blue Note Records artist who continues the label's esteemed legacy with groovy music which blurs the lines between multiple genres.

On July 9, 2011, Jose James gave an outstanding and heartfelt performance, paying tribute to the late Gil Scott-Heron. He was accompanied by The Miguel Atwood Ferguson Ensemble who lend their musical magic to this outdoor performance in Harlem. I hope this collaboration between Jose and Miguel Atwood Ferguson comes out as an official studio recording!
