Keyboardist Carl Hudson Releases "Zoology for Martians"

Press Release from DigiSoul:

"Carl Hudson first caught the attention of Digisoul's Soulpersona back in 2010 when he recruited him to play keys at his Soulacoaster show. Since that fateful night it has lead to Carl becoming The Digisoul Band's resident keys player and adding to his already impressive CV playing alongside iconic artists including Jocelyn Brown, Jean Carne, Leon Ware, Omar, The Valentine Brothers as well as numerous studio sessions with Soulpersona, Nick Van Gelder (Jamiroquai) Princess Freesia and many more. Most recently Carl was unveiled the new keys player for cult jazz funk act Akimbo. Three years on and SoulP has signed Carl to his Digisoul label to release his debut album "Zoology for Martians".
"Zoology for Martians" is an album that was written in a few days after Carl had returned home from a lengthy tour with platinum selling artist Professor Green. Over the past year he has brought this project to life by enlisting the heavyweight skills of fellow Digisoul band members Nick Van Gelder (Drums/Percussion) Andy Tolman(Bass), Terry Lewis (Guitar) Neil Waters (Flugal Horn) and Bob Dowell (trombone).

"Zoology For Martians" can best be described as a revolutionary concept album that provides a soundtrack to evolution itself. Listen as it gently glides you through a magical journey from cell to primate fusing a raregroove, jazz funk, soul cocktail of lush chords and goosebumpy grooves. With a gentle tip of the hat to classic instrumental jazz funk soul albums of the 70s you will expect to hear shimmers of Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard, Don Blackman, George Duke and many more."

"One of the most baddest and wonderful keyboard players that I have heard for a long, long time. Carl Hudson's playing just makes me want to sing!"- Jocelyn Brown

"Wow, you can play all those keyboards at once? You must be an octopus!"- Jean Carne

"A true musical genius of the highest order, Carl Hudson has just gone and made one of my all time favourite albums"- Soulpersona (Digisoul)

"Carl Hudson... Mild mannered music maverick" - Nick Van Gelder (VeeGee Records)

"The cosmic comrade has created a cocoon of creature cabarets!" - Princess Freesia (Digisoul)
