M-Phazes' "The Works" Compiles Some Of The Producer's Best To Date

"When it comes to Hip-Hop producers, it's safe to say that M-Phazes is Australia's biggest export to date, having produced countless works for some of the biggest names in international Hip-Hop. That signature M-Phazes sound has landed on albums over the globe including Korea, Czec Republic, Spain, America, UK, Japan and South Africa.

M-Phazes is proud to release a compilation album featuring some of his all-time favourite collaborations from his back catalogue: "The Works" With over 300+ released songs to his name, "The Works" is comprised of 12 stand out songs from artists such as Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch ft. Jill Scott, Slaughterhouse, BIG K.R.I.T., Blu, Heltah Skeltah and CL Smooth. "The Works" showcases M-Phazes' ability to output a diverse range of sounds from soulful keys to harcore drums to triumphant horns, every base gets covered by the Australian beatsmith.

"You Don't Wanna ft. Jehst & Micall Parknsun" is the only 100% exclusive track featured on "The Works" and was recorded in 2007 when Jehst & Micall were touring Australia. Complete with a chopped piano loop, heavy bassline and smacking drums, Jehst & Micall showcase their phenomenal skills as wordsmiths over that classic M-Phazes signature sound! In 2010 M-Phazes released his Aria award winning album "Good Gracious" featuring an all-star lineup of Australian Hip-Hop artists. Now in 2013, M-Phazes is releasing his next installment of compilation albums but this time it features an all-star lineup of international Hip-Hop artists only.

Muneshine - "Do Me" (feat. Slakah the Beatchild) (Beatchild Remix)

Toronto's own Muneshine links with singer/musician Slakah The Beatchild for a style of Hip Hop which is soulful, reflective and thumping. Whatever track Slakah touches he seems to add a nice musical touch while Muneshine paints pictures of life's struggles from the humble perspective of a veteran Hip Hopper and indie artist.

Enjoy 3 songs from Munshine's "There Is Only Today" LP including the lead single "Lower Level". These few songs boast Hip Hop's traditional ingredients of beats, tight rhymes and scratching with the foundation of an MC who speaks from a position of independence and a determined path of life. Hopefully you leave feeling as Muneshine does about life after listening to this project, his approach to music does encourage you to live for the day.

Official Producer Lineup For Muneshine's There Is Only Today LP: Buckwild, DJ Spinna, M-Phazes, Illmind & more

Canadian MC/producer Muneshine has carried a notable list of collaborations throughout the years with up & coming and established production talent for an original approach to the boom-bap. Muneshine released the official producer lineup on Facebook Aug. 16 2011, and his choice of collaborators sound exciting.

"There Is Only Today" will feature production from Muneshine himself, Buckwild of D.I.T.C., DJ Spinna, M-Phazes, Illmind, Suff Daddy, BoomBaptist, Shinogo & Jerre. These producers carry a range of emotion which is great for Muneshine's reflective and thought-provoking images as a lyricist.

Whether or not you know about the work of each producer on his list, the good thing about listening to Muneshine is that you get surprises he has up his sleeve on each project as he gives opportunity to emerging talent. A few of those producers I didn't even know about 'til now!

A couple of my favorite Muneshine songs can be found on the "Mark My Words"/"What Now" 12" which is pictured above, I think was my first time in discovering his music. Listen to the banging sounds of the "Mark My Words"/"What Now" 12" here, I feel both songs produced by Illmind and M-Phazes carry a lasting effect of good music years after their release.

Muneshine - Home Brewed Productions

Muneshine is an MC, producer, engineer and DJ from Canada, a rising talent of independent Hip Hop who has paved a path of impressive releases and guest spots. He is 1/2 of Twin Peaks (w/ @Ghettosocks), 1/2 of The Birthday Boys (w/ @Dsisive) and co-founder of Wax Reform.

"Home Brewed Productions" consists of rare and previously unreleased songs between 2004 and 2010, all produced, arranged and mixed by Muneshine.

The art of Muneshine stands as an example of the wealth Hip Hop artists have to offer through their unique interpretation of Hip Hop by holding true to the classic songwriting traditions of the 90's, while bringing competitive, next-level ideas and new views of life to the table. "Home Brewed Productions" shows that the expression of MCs and producers in the most simple form can still be used to make refreshing Hip Hop music in the present day, by taking it back to 2 turntables, a mic and dusty records combined with the forward-thinking view of dedicated Hip Hop heads.
