"This fine, party-starting 7" single from Jorun Bombay looks to the Jackson 5 for inspiration. A-side "It's Still Great To Be Here" is a tasteful remix of the Jackson family disco-pop track of the same name, featuring some new musical elements supplied by conga player Chris Cookson and keyboardist Forrest Dank. On the flip, Bombay delivers a version of New Edition's "Candy Girl", replacing the original's electrofunk backing track with the Jackson 5's "ABC" (which, of course, was famously sampled on the New Edition track). It's a brilliant idea, superbly executed, and should get a great response when played to packed dance floors."

For his 1990 self-titled LP on Motown Records, the New Edition member struck the music scene with energetic songs that can rock a dance floor 'til this day such as "Rub You The Right Way" and "Fairweather Friend", sounds which virtually helped define the sound of New Jack Swing. His love ballads remain as classics while providing a groove like none other through outstanding vocal talent paired with greats of production, from the La & Babyface-written "My, My, My" to the incredibly smooth "Lady Dujour" written and produced by Jam & Lewis. The sound of music has since changed, but one things for certain is Johnny's aura on recordings is one in a million as one of R&B's most timeless voices.
