"Literally my first mixtape in 5 years!!! I've been wanting to put this baby together for so damn long now and i'm glad th at i finally found the time to do it! :-)

So, what can you expect? A mixtape full of my favorite New Jack Swing gems which are connected to personal fond memories and therefore have remained in my playlist ever since. Some tracks you may already know, some you may have slept on or just completely forgotten about...and others you may even discover for the first time!

Either way, these are all tracks i consider pure New Jack Swing, hence the title. YES, there will most definitely be a volume 2, but give me some time...lol...until then - ENJOY THIS ONE, FOLKS!!!" - DJ Soulchild

Get your groove on to R&B classics the 80's and 90's way with Troop as they present special re-releases of "Reloaded", "Revisited" and "B-Sides". Troop epitomizes the New Jack Swing essence of R&B while remaining fresh for the new millennium. Enjoy their revamped sound as they continue to groove you, live from Pasadena, California. The group has had five number-one singles and ten top-ten singles on the Billboard R&B Charts.[1] They have also completed five albums, which include three certified gold and one certified platinum album.

TROOP is an acronym for "Total Respect Of Other People".[2] The group is most notable for a series of number-one R&B hits, including two popular cover versions of songs such as "All I Do Is Think of You" and "Sweet November", originally performed by the musical acts, The Jackson 5 and The Deele respectively, and also had number-one hits with original songs such as "Mamacita" and "Spread My Wings".

Although you won't truly know the power of Johnny's music until you sit and absorb his studio recordings in full, this VHS rip of his interview with MTV Japan in 1990 serves as an introduction into Johnny's influential presence as one of R&B/New Jack Swing's leading talents.

For his 1990 self-titled LP on Motown Records, the New Edition member struck the music scene with energetic songs that can rock a dance floor 'til this day such as "Rub You The Right Way" and "Fairweather Friend", sounds which virtually helped define the sound of New Jack Swing. His love ballads remain as classics while providing a groove like none other through outstanding vocal talent paired with greats of production, from the La & Babyface-written "My, My, My" to the incredibly smooth "Lady Dujour" written and produced by Jam & Lewis. The sound of music has since changed, but one things for certain is Johnny's aura on recordings is one in a million as one of R&B's most timeless voices.

Enjoy this feature interview for Johnny's 1990 album as an in-depth look at one of the greatest talents of R&B to emerge from the background of Gospel singing, Motown Records and the wing of legendary production teams La & Babyface and Flyte Time. Hear Johnny perform live plus speak about each song on the album with additional interviews with Jam & Lewis as they speak on working with the young superstar.
