It's a warm, upbeat and celebratory vibe as the music of Umoja delivers happiness with its spiritual and free jazz perspective. This is some of the best fusion you're bound to hear as Nicola Conte gives us that, plus private-press soul sounds and African and Afro Caribbean rhythms. The result is a breezy and uplifting life-giving as Conte's pays homage to The Motherland's sights and sounds. The composer follows in the musical footsteps of cosmic jazz masters such as Lonnie Liston Smith and Gary Bartz, and Afrobeat originators Fela Kuti and Tony Allen.
