The versatile and talented singer/songwriter/producer Beatchild (formerly known as Slakah) lends his musical hand to create a joyful fusion of Psych and Soul on "Heavy Rockin' Steady". As you may be able to tell by the cover, Slakah is inspired by sounds of the late 60's on this project. Let your cares be free and go california coasting' with Beatchild & The Slakadeliqs who merge sounds of the past and present to celebrate the good life.
iLive Radio welcome Toronto’s own Producer, Songwriter and Artist Slakah the Beatchild into their studios for a talk about his world of music, citing influences, philosophies, history, upcoming projects and some surprises in-between a set spin of his soulful catalog.
In 2016, Slakah continues his foray into the world of psychedelic Soul and fuzz with the follow-up to his Slakadeliqs project, a sunny and joyful jam to celebrate the moment called "Good Life".
Slakah The Beatchild just doesn't create R&B/Soul, he aims to create his own movement with refreshing and distinctive grooves which inspires joy. Enjoy the second volume of Slakah's Soul Movement series as this talented guitarist/singer/producer explores new dimensions of Soul by blending a variety of influences into one groovy sound.
When singer/producers Häzel and Slakah The Beatchild get together some magical sounds of beatmaking are bound to happen. "Turn The Lights Off" flows with a sense of calm unlike many beats you are likely to hear as the duo provide laid back vibes with a melodic combination of Rhodes and guitar. As these plesant sounds meet the knock of Häzel's gritty drums, the result is a beautiful journey and vision of Hip Hop.
Häzel is hard at work in the studio finishing his new album slated for release this year. In anticipation of the new album we've pressed this limited edition flexi disc featuring "Turn The Lights Off" taken from his upcoming full length. Artwork by The Black Arrow, photography by Kenny Sweeney & additional guitar by Slakah The Beatchild. Only 200 will be available for sale. In stores worldwide March 26th.
