Remember this talented MC from Philadelphia? Here is a mixtape of material he's released over the years, a great listen if you haven't been able to keep up with all of them, I know he's been very low-key as an independent artist. You might have had to be a DJ/radio host to keep up with his releases, he's an artist who was at the beginning of the independent vinyl era at the late 90's. I remember he began to make some noise on the underground in the late 90's, but never rose to the acclaim I feel he truly deserves. His Facebook page says his next album Wizards Wardrobe will be released sometime in 09.

Animalistics (ridiculous creativity on the lyrics here):

Here's an excerpt from his bio which can be found in it's entirety here:

"The name Jamal is Arabic, meaning Handsome and Gray is his surname, a constant reminder of his aboriginal links to this-the North American landscape. He chose the title "The Last Emperor" because he is the last of a dying breed of emcee. Mosi Reeves, a writer for URB Magazine said about The Last Emperor, "Like Pu Yi, the rapping Last Emperor is a classicist, less reminiscent of rap stars today tan hip-hop legends of old….in the film, he (The Last Emperor), there was a question of whether one should gold onto traditions or embrace new things. The Last Emperor wants to do both."
