On The Rub “History of Hip-Hop 2000″, DJ Cosmo Baker provides a nice balance of mainstream and underground releases to present a decade of all around good Hip Hop memories. If you were fortunate to remember the 2000-2009 years of Hip Hop, this mix will most likely allow you to reminisce on a drastically different music industry and society through a melting pot of expression from a wide range of artists.

For years I have had a tendency to shy away from some Hip Hop songs that are played repeatedly on commercial radio, not listening to them until a year or two later. Fortunately a mix like this really puts the impact of mainstream and underground areas of Hip Hop upon my life into perspective, when I look back and realize how both played a significant part in varying musical expressions and sources of social influence through media and society.
