I appreciate this footage because it reminds me of what the social environment of Hip Hop used to be in my neighborhood of MCs who lead the community with uplifting music and allowed the youth to showcase their talent, even if it was during their show. To look back on this era of synchronized dancers, high top gumby cuts and looped samples is great, but I really enjoy seeing kids gfrom the neighborhood get on the stage and show their skills. These are inspiring elements of Hip Hop from the late 80's-early 90's where many artists made music which served as escapism from the harsh reality of their neighborhoods instead of glorifying it.
EST, Chuck Nice and Woody Wood of Three Times Dope interview and perform for a social center in the Bronx during their 2nd album, "Live From Acknickulous Land ".
