It is inspirational to witness Rakim's humble outlook on his life and craft, he appears to realize his gift and appreciates the opportunities it presents for him. In this 1990 feature, Rakim explains how he followed a path from the streets to finding religion and becoming the Microphone Fiend, a rare talent of MCing and landmark figure of urban art and culture.
This is a true example of Hip Hop heroism and monumental aura, Rakim stands out like a star as he walks through the streets of New York with the rest of his entourage. One of the highlights of this interview is when Ra kicks a live accapella from "The Punisher", one of my favorite of his rhymes from "Don't Sweat The Technique".
