Sample Of The Day: Tafo feat Nahid Akhtar vs. Ghostface Killah
Sample Of The Day: Tafo feat Nahid Akhtar vs. Ghostface Killah

Wu Tang continue to prove their creativity and and musical influences are limit-less as MCs who are known for their witty, unpredictable talent. Ghostface, Trife and Cappadonna continue to bring surprises in the sound of raw Hip Hop, this time utilizing the guitar grooves of Frank Dukes who lifts a sample from Pakistani musicians Tafo and Nahid Akhtar and transforms it into an uptempo posse cut which stands out among other 2011 releases.

To most listeners, "Black Tequila" from Ghostface's "Apollo Kids" might sound like it took a Latin sample on the first listen, each MC seemed to model their lyrics after that fact as well. Without the Pakistani singing and chants found on the original sample "Karye Pyar" by Tafo it's hard to tell the difference. There sure is a lot to discover in the world of international music!

"Karye Pyar" by Tafo is actually part of a re-release of Pakistani music and can be found on the 2011 compilation "The Sound Of Wonder! (The First Wave Of Plugged-In Pop At The Pakistani Picture House)" by Finders Keepers Records. It is a collection of Rare Electronic Pop from the Lollywood vaults (1973-1980) by a record label who provides an excellent selection of rare groove projects.
