As a slow-groove with inspirational messages based on meeting challenges of life, “My Dear” presents a classic-mid-tempo rhythm and vibe which draws on The Soulphonics’ resonating sound of Soul.  This lead-off single from the upcoming debut 2012 album “It’s About Time” features a heavy backbeat, hypnotic bass, and piano as the soulful background for Ruby's beautiful vocals. The band draws heavily from the deep well of early 50's and 60's Georgia Soul to project a genuine sense of rhythm and blues from this classic tradition of music.

The first official video for Ruby Velle & The Soulphonics was filmed which was on a limited budget carries a nostalgic feel by introducing the band in their own studio setting of Little 5 Points Atlanta. The single “My Dear” shares a message for people to reach within themselves and “bring light to the dark,” so this interpretation can be seen throughout.
