After listening to Stretch & Bobbito Friday morning on WKCR in the mid-90's, the next best outlet for hearing great music dug from the depths of the crates came the following Saturday afternoon. Across 110th Street featuring Danny Rudder, Ricky Powell of The Beastie Boys with occasional guests such as Chairman Mao was a great show for passing time on the weekends with stellar set lists of rare grooves and breaks. For a radio show which spun Soul, Funk and Jazz rarities in New York, I doubt there was another as entertaining or educational as this.
