Times are more serious than ever in society and as the grip tightens Hip Hop breaks through by continuing to provide a voice of truth and hope from artists who are courageous enough to express their view of reality. With visions of change and images of warfare paired with sounds of cinematic production, the art of militant Hip Hop brings forth a generation of leaders of the ghetto. Enter the music of Brian James, Knightstalker and others in this post dedicated to militant and revolutionary Hip Hop of the New Millennia.

Brian James and company approach the mic with a strong sense of self-identity and historical depth on "Military Mind Cypher", a bonus track from Brian's "Freedom Summer" LP. As products of West California's inner city, these MCs search for the truth while climbing a ladder towards greater knowledge and social acceptance by using history as a benchmark. The result is a focused display of skill and self-purpose you can feel with each bar.

“The Last Line Of Defence” brings the militant determination and perspective of life from the minds of Apaulo Treed & Knightstalker. The California resident Apaulo Treed and overseas rapper Knightstalker from Berlin/Germany combine forces to record a global-minded album that goes along with a militant theme inspired by the ongoing worldwide economical crisis! Inbetween those politically-themed songs like “The Great Beyond” and “Only One Way” for example, one can also find raw boom-bap Hip Hop tracks like “Defcon 2” and the 90s cypher-inspired “Tactical Strike Force”.

The 10-track effort boasts guest appearances by New York heavyweights Meyhem Lauren, Maffew Ragazino, J-Love, C-Rayz Walz and Solomon Childs (Wu-Tang Killa Beez) as well as production by international hitmakers Harry Fraud (NY/USA), J-Love(NY/USA), Melanko(France), Romeo and Marodeur (both from Berlin/Germany).

Enjoy a playlist of militant and revolutionary songs from the new millennia, each of which carry their own story, style and approach toward voicing the urgency to rise above a state of social unrest. As each artists digs deep within to project their thoughts of change and uprising, the result is a sound of Hip Hop which is intriguing, entertaining and packed with servings of food for thought.
