"This is an important project for me. I saw each of these songs as an attempt to break into something that was fresh, unusual and maybe even a bit precarious. My main focus was to stretch out as an artist, to build a new sound dimension that was beyond my norm. I have spent a great deal of time in the Smooth Jazz genre. And while that music has been good for me, I feel it is time to reach for something outside my comfort zone, hence the title, Brave New World.

One thing that guides me on these musical journeys is a sense of being true to who I am. I am not the same person I was ten or even twenty years ago. And I think my music should evolve with the wisdom, understanding and challenges that have come into my life. On this project I sometimes had to “yell” and at other times I “whispered”. But in all of these songs, I tried to tell the truth about what was in my mind and heart. I hope that you enjoy these songs as much as I do. And if you are a musician, I hope you are inspired to step beyond your musical neighborhood and reach for a new world that will inspire others.
