"To celebrate another year of Barely Breaking Even, we've let our staff loose on the label catalogue to choose their favourite tracks of 2015. From re-issues of rare 70's afro-beat records to debut albums by emerging artists and everything in between, we present our own hand-picked highlights from the past 12 months.
Included in the package are tracks from heavy hitters Bilal, Jigmastas, DJ Vadim and Rim Kwaku Obeng, all of whom released albums on BBE during 2015. Remixes from man of the moment Opolopo, Fila Brazilia's Steve Cobby and U.S. techno powerhouse Myles Sergé have been creating underground heat all year long. Emerging into the limelight, super-talented Portland rapper Vursatyl, New Zealand soul- stress Sacha Vee and UK producer Ghostchant have been enjoying incredible support from the international music press. New material from label stalwarts Inkswel, DJ Oil, Mr Bird, Tricky D & Chris Read also made the final cut, not to forgetting our feel- good hit of the summer, Martin L Dumas's 'Attitude, Belief and Determination'.
