25 years ago, Fred Wesley formed his own band, with excellent musicians who can play jazz, funk, blues, and more. they’ve been touring the world together ever since.

Now, Fred has it in his heart to record an album honoring his deepest roots: the blues. With the New JBs he will pay tribute to blues greats including Earl King, Champion Jack Dupree and Tommy Tucker.

Fred Wesley is taking classic tunes and new tunes and giving them signature Fred Wesley arrangements inspired by the 1950s style of the late, great Bobby Blue Bland. special guests will include the world-renowned Chops Horns, filling out a super-fat horn section.
