Composer/bandleader/educator and indie record label owner, Avery Sharpe presents "Sharpe Meets Tharpe", an homage to iconic gospel musician Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Rosetta Tharpe's timeless songwriting and performance would go on to inspire future Rock and Soul legends such as Chuck Berry, Little Richard, and Elvis Presley.

Sharpe is credited for introducing gospel music into the prestigious Litchfield Jazz Festival in 2012 with his Sojourner Truth Project. On this project, the gospel/Jazz bassist is joined by the New England Gospel Choir, lead vocalist Angel Rose, soulful singer Meli'sa Morgan and the noted tenor saxophonist Charles Neville of Neville Brothers fame, along with other co-celebrants in his instrumental ensemble.
