"An appealing new voice on the jazz scene with beautiful melodic sensitivity and intricately crafted percussion”

-Marshall Smith, The Idyllwild Town Crier, CA

"Frisson is an eight piece instrumental collective formed in 2015 at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and led by composer and vibraphonist Matt DiBiase. Comprised of graduates and current students of Oberlin, the Juilliard School, the Berklee Global Jazz Institute and the Brubeck Institute, its members currently reside throughout the United States, the Bahamas and Germany. With influences ranging from jazz and hip hop to funk and electronic music, the band's live performances feature hypnotic grooves, exhilarating solos and thoughtfully crafted original compositions.

The group's sound reflects many of today’s preeminent genre-crossing artists including Snarky Puppy, Hiatus Kaiyote, the Christian Scott Quintet and Moonchild. Frisson released its debut EP in 2017 and has since toured the material across the United States West Coast, Midwest and Western Canada. In June of 2019 they will release their second studio album, Cast, and tour extensively throughout the country."
