Spoken word veterans The Last Poets return in 2024 with a revisit to some of their classics, refreshed with the help of Nigerian drummer Tony Allen. On "Africanism" the vibrant rhythm of Africa supports the wisdom of these poets who speak the esteemed history of The First Born People. As the mothers and fathers of all civilization and inventors of music, Africa is a rich resource of inspiration. The Last Poets continue to take advantage of The Motherland and represent the Black experience to the fullest.
