This uplifting blend of Gospel/Soul/Funk is bound to make you want to get up no matter what walk of life you're from. As a Harlem resident, I'm always intrigued by this and many works of art which were created this tumultuous period of the community during the 70's. Decades later, we now have the remastered version of this cult classic which includes 11 bonus tracks. 

Above, The Voices Of East Harlem perform in concert footage from Sing Sing prison back in 1972. The Voices Of East Harlem were a community choir that grew from an inner city action project in 1969.
