"J Dilla’s protege Guilty Simpson first collaborated with Madlib’s protege MED on the hard hitting ‘Jungle Love’ track off J Dillas ‘The Shining’ LP. They continued to reunite on several tracks after and now offer us the Loyalty EP. With beats by Black Milk, MNDSGN, Exile and Preme, the duo have no choice but to come correct with the lyrics and they do.
From Cali to Detroit, MED and Guilty Simpson deliver a 10 track EP to get you ready for the album dropping later this year on Bang Ya Head Entertainment."
In these turbulent times Guilty Simpson and eLZhi murder with rhymes in a dangerous duet which redefines just how dark and threatening Hip Hop can sound. This psychedelic cut is courtesy of "Detroit's Son" Guilty Simpson and represents the unique tone which he presents across his 2015 LP of Rock-influenced darkness.
Guilty Simpson is doin' the damn thang in 2015 as he represents Detroit in a definition of real live street music. Prolific as usual with guest spots and solo releases, listen as Guilty gives Hip Hop fans the rawness they thirst for by painting visions of the ghetto over rugged sample-based instrumentals on "Unreleased Material" featuring MED and "Vanguard Organization".
A sinister arrangement of violins and keys serve as the foundation to make you bounce as Finale's distinct flow and flurry of images let loose on "Random Joint" produced by The ARE. It's clear this Detroit has a lot on his mind as he absorbs all that bothers him within sight and reflects in back out to you in rhyme.
The raw sound of Detroit Hip Hop continues on 2 more random joints featuring Guilty Simpson, Jay Dee and Big Tone as Finale chooses gutter production to reflect the rugged-at-heart approach of his music and city.
Stay tuned to Finale's Soundcloud page for more random joints, he says he's "gonna use this for exclusives and stuff i never put out".
The dream Detroit team of Phat Kat, eLZhi and Guilty Simpson is mean as the demonstrate why they are still to be respected as lyricists on "All Madden". Beware as them things get 'ta clappin' in the dangerous video and first single taken from Kat's album “Rededication to the Suckas” coming soon.
'Round here you gotta be bold to ingest the hardcore sounds of DJ Dez & DJ Butter, Kool G Rap & Guilty Simpson who pierce your eardrum with raw Hip Hop. This drum-heavy track which aims at the powers that be of society comes from Dez & Butter's "A Piece Of The Action" album, a project which features other lyrical heavyweights such as Phat Kat, eLZhi, VStylez and more Detroit representatives.

"Not too long ago, you were probably introduced to a new MC named LAW, flanked by Sean Price and Rock aka Heltah Skeltah on their banger, "Deathwish". Fresh out of the lab, LAW, Cali's rising son, has come back to clue you in to what his upcoming album, The Virus, is going to sound like. Calling upon the OG, MC Eiht and the homeys, Crooked I and R-Mean, LAW's second single is another banger for you and yours. This time LAW only needs "One Minute" to let you know he's packing that heat. Over a sonic sound scape provided by S-1 (Kanye's "Power"), this quartet of rhyme slingers leave no witnesses behind. Currently Law is preparing a mixtape with DJ Dub (Jay Electronica, Saigon, CRS) entitled "The Outbreak" to give you a sample of The Virus before it gets exposed to the world."

Dark Jazz sound serves as the backdrop for Guilty Simpson's journey through the streets on the Small Professor-produced "On The Run". This frantic combination of beats, rhymes and cuts demonstrates Hip Hop music's ability to provoke dangerous and cinematic images to the listener.

Detroit has been doing their thing in bringing standout posse cuts for the new millenium. When you look at the Black Milk produced ones alone, you'll witness the cream of the crop of Detroit MCing and a revival of aggressive posse cuts in general. Ro Spit brings some of his Detroit friends for “Detroit 101 (feat. Fat Ray, Black Milk, Fatt Father, Guilty Simpson, & Marv Won). This song is from Ro Spit’s album “Glass Ceiling” which comes out on October 25th. Thanks goes to Michiganhiphop.com for the audio.
From Fat Beats:
"In between skate parks and street corners is where you will find the music of Vast Aire. A NYC native whose influences range from Comic Books, Nintendo Games, Japanese Anime and the Metaphysical Sciences. An artist who has been influenced by a variety of music and has affected a new generation of musicians. Cannibal Ox’s “Cold Vein” is considered a modern classic album not just in Hip Hop but in all musical genres. Vast Aire, who was responsible for much of the creation and development of that album, has now made another classic. “Cold Vein” which was released in 2001, is now followed up by “OX 2010: a street odyssey”. The feel is both spacey and epic and explores a new style for Vast Aire called “Simplex” which is simple ideas but explored in a complex manner. Much like the Kubrick masterpiece about the darker side of mankind, Vast Aire explores the darker side of himself. The writing for this record pushes Vast Aire into new territories, with deeper more profound ideas and codes to keep listeners and critics decyphering. It is rare for an artist to follow up to a classic album a decade later. With “OX 2010,” Vast Aire certainly has returned. "
"Ox 2010: A Street Odyssey" now available on Fat Beats Records at iTunes and Amazon
