As an addition to Tall Black Guy's 7' "Water No Enemy"/"Lost and Gone" which is available now for purchase at CrossTalk and Turntable Lab, enjoy his guest DJ set on Bastard Jazz radio. This mix features his music as well as hip-hop and instrumental head nodders from the likes of Kenny Keys, J. Slick, Innosphere, Tensi and Raj Mahal. Tall Black Guy's selections provide an insightful look into his influences as a producer which is an emerging genre of Hip Hop-influenced producers who carry the basic drumming feel we know and love, but also incorporates new innovative musical ideas into their work.

Here is a review of Tall Black Guy's 7" project:

"Brooklyn's BSTRD Boots returns with a fresh offering from up-and-coming Detroit producer Tall Black Guy. Garnering big buzz before proper release, and played plenty on both Giles Peterson and Benji B's Radio shows, "Water No Enemy" is a deft and agile chop of the Fela tune of similar name. Complete with off it's kilter swinging drums, dreamy synths, and filtered horns, this tune creates an irresistible vibe and bumps warm and lovely on vinyl. On the flip, TBG offers up "Lost And Gone" - a raw downtempo head nodder featuring hard-to-spot vibes from both D'Angelo and Stevie Wonder."
