For the summer of 2021 or whatever time of year you want to be happy, guitarist Jimmy Dludlu & the band Ojoyo deliver the joy of Afircan heritage. Jimmy Dludlu, once a boy from the Mozambique townships who dreamed of playing the guitar, is now one of South Africa's leading jazz musicians. On his latest project "History Is A Frame", Dludlu's instrumentals entertain while providing a place of harmony and solace.
Saxophonist, penny whistle master, and composer Morris Goldberg formed the first version of Ojoyo, a group that pays homage to his roots in South Africa. "Ojoyo Plays Safrojazz", is the 25th Anniversary reissue of Ojoyo’s first album whose sound has been greatly enhanced by remastering, features two overlapping groups. This project is rich with African musical influences and an upbeat celebratory vibe. The result is a moment of happiness to revisit time and time again driven by the unique musical heritage of The Motherland.
