Ayatollah - "The Love" (feat. Inspectah Deck & Silent Knight)

Nice dedication to the ladies as Inspectah Deck and Silent Knight get visual about the trails of love over a soulful Ayatollah track.

Elementality Productions is proud to announce the upcoming release of Ayatollah's new album, Be Real Black for Me. On Tollah's latest sonic endeavor, he's decided to enlist the help of a few vocalists to share his vision - Grammy Award winning singer Anthony Hamilton, Wu-Tang Clan's very own Inspectah Deck, as well as a few newcomers (and EMP family), Silent Knight and Jered Sanders.

Be Real Black for Me will be available worldwide on April 15th.

Big Noyd, Large Pro & Kool G Rap - "Naturally Born" (prod. by Ayatollah)

4 Queens vets get together to envision the streets and make your head bop on "Naturally Born", a summer-sounding Hip Hop anthem for the borough of New York which has birthed legends. Each MC sounds fresh as ever after years of contributing fire to the game to bless this Ayatollah track with an vivid and entertaining view of the Q borough. Dutchmaster adds the icing on the cake with sharp cuts on the tables for the completion of a song which carries the classic sound of Hip Hop die-hards aren't soon to forget.

Vast Aire - "The Verdict" feat. Guilty Simpson off "Ox 2010: A Street Odyssey"

Ayatollah assists on the boards with a bass-heavy production for "The Verdict" featuring Guilty Simpson, the latest single off Vast Aire's album "Ox 2010: A Street Odyssey". The vibe of this song reminds me of RZA's production during Wu-Tang Forever in the raw sound Ayatollah provides for Vast and Guilty's unorthodox rhyme styles.

From Fat Beats:

"In between skate parks and street corners is where you will find the music of Vast Aire. A NYC native whose influences range from Comic Books, Nintendo Games, Japanese Anime and the Metaphysical Sciences. An artist who has been influenced by a variety of music and has affected a new generation of musicians. Cannibal Ox’s “Cold Vein” is considered a modern classic album not just in Hip Hop but in all musical genres. Vast Aire, who was responsible for much of the creation and development of that album, has now made another classic. “Cold Vein” which was released in 2001, is now followed up by “OX 2010: a street odyssey”. The feel is both spacey and epic and explores a new style for Vast Aire called “Simplex” which is simple ideas but explored in a complex manner. Much like the Kubrick masterpiece about the darker side of mankind, Vast Aire explores the darker side of himself. The writing for this record pushes Vast Aire into new territories, with deeper more profound ideas and codes to keep listeners and critics decyphering. It is rare for an artist to follow up to a classic album a decade later. With “OX 2010,” Vast Aire certainly has returned. "

"Ox 2010: A Street Odyssey" now available on Fat Beats Records at iTunes and Amazon.

Listen To: Rare Grooves With Ayatollah Mix

I never knew Ayatollah had skills like this on the turntables! To hear the deep breaks he's cutting up in this mix is an interesting look into Ayatollah's choices of sound as a producer, a dose of that obscure Funk and Soul beyond what you hear composed in his beats. These type of mixes which exemplify the tradition of the Hip Hop DJ in scratching and obscure crate digging are great listening material for a weekend, I hope you enjoy.
