"Peppermint Jam Records is pleased to announce that the dynamic duo COOL MILLION are back with a killer song featuring no one other than MARC EVANS the man with one of the industry biggest vocals.
The song 'Dontcha Wanna Dance' has that classic Cool Million feel, topped with power full horns and rides on a catchy groove – all set for dance floors across the globe.
Marc Evans is no newcomer on the soul circuit, many of his songs has been crossed over from house to the soul scene – because he is by heart a soul singer. And this new song alongside Cool Million will once again prove that Marc is a gem when it comes to vocal performance of highest high.
Marc A. Evans, a native Baltimorean, was born into music. Yet amazingly, this son of a vocalist and jazz saxophonist didn't discover his own music until his late teens. Finally, as a student at Morgan State University, under the tutelage of Dr. Nathan Carter, Evans began nurturing a love for music. Out of that nurturing arises one of the most sultry, smokey baritones ever. That smooth voice meshed with passionate delivery sets Evans apart from the rest as one of the most talented vocalists of the millennium.
Cool Million KNOW about music. They are not following trends, jumping on bandwagons or even trying to create a trend. These gentleman are simply creating real music with real feeling and doing so with all the knowledge, love and respect for what we can affectionately call the groove!
Although attempts to work with Evans has been made earlier It have not been possible to hook up until now says Cool Million (Rob Hardt & Frank Ryle), we are extremely happy and grateful to be able to release this song with Marc as our first single of the coming album (No Ordinary Music).
The song perfectly reflect what Cool million is about and we do believe this is a very strong first single. We certainly look forward to our fans reaction – but we are confident that people will embrace ‘Dontcha Wanna Dance' with same enthusiasm as our previously work.
The single ‘Dontcha Wanna Dance' comes with remixes from; Julius Papp, Morten Trust and riCkY InCh."

uMaNg "The Black Rose Certificate" (entirely produced by B.B.Z. Darney), available NOW (CD/2LP/cassette/digital) on Ill Adrenaline Records.

uMaNg - The Black Rose Certificate - Vinyl LP Record
Press release by Ill Adrenaline:
"With two full-length albums already under their belts that garnered them buzz in the underground ("Lasting Impressions" & "The Revisited"), New Jersey originated emcee uMaNg, reunites with Swedish producer B.B.Z. Darney ("The Boom Bappin' Zombie"), to complete their trilogy of albums with their label debut on Ill Adrenaline Records entitled, "The Black Rose Certificate."
Shortly after inking a deal with the label, the next eight months would find uMaNg & B.B.Z. embarking on a musical journey that would result in their most personal & brutally honest record to date. The title "The Black Rose Certificate", while a representation of many a symbolism, reflects the duo's state of mind, the hand they've been dealt as typecasts in society. Since being impossible to produce a "black rose" also stands for purest devotion. A kind of devotion that uMaNg & B.B.Z. put forth in their respected crafts.
Over the course of 14 tracks, the duo sonically stick to their traditional "boom-bap" roots, whilst also bringing sounds that range from "darker" to "aggressive", to even more "melancholic". The production B.B.Z. Darney showcases is heavier, more conceptual than previous releases. uMaNg has been notable throughout his career for being a clever & witty, punchline heavy emcee. While staying true to his stylings on the mic, he gets deeper & more transparent than past albums have suggested. For every braggadocious track, there is another where the Jersey emcee bares his soul through the pen, opening up about past discretions, family HIStory, amongst other topics on the emcee's mind. Also unlike "Lasting Impressions" & "The Revisited", that found the duo being the lone contributors to their works alongside the legendary DJ Grazzhoppa, they now bring along with them close collaborators as well as in-label artists. The album features tracks from the likes of Brick City veteran and close Artifacts affiliate Beneficence, Purpose of the Tragic Allies camp, close friends HexOne & Tek-nition of the critically acclaimed duo Epidemic, and Hashfinger to lend their talents and further enhance the album's disposition."
Spittin' for the humble in the struggle, Shad steps inside the belly of the beast to address a part of society who is on edge on "Hang On". When the system seems it's taking your hope away, let the struggle motivate and come up with something dope to say like this talented and creative wordsmith from Canada!
Australian producer P.R. strikes a cool balance between the raw boom-bap essence of the 90's and a musically-progressive approach to beats on "The Instrumentals". Although the title may sound simple, best believe the instrumentals are the opposite as P lets his imagination flow with enticing layers of chords and harmony driven by heavy drums and pleasant jazz-inspired loops. If your a fan of Hieroglyphics' early 90's music, enjoy the sound revived and elevated musically.

John Carpenter has been responsible for much of the horror genre’s most striking soundtrack work in the fifteen movies he’s both directed and scored. The themes can instantly flood his fans’ musical memory with imagery of a menacing shape stalking a babysitter, a relentless wall of ghost-filled fog, lightning-fisted kung fu fighters, or a mirror holding the gateway to hell. The all-new music on Lost Themes asks Carpenter’s acolytes to visualize their own nightmares.
“Lost Themes was all about having fun,” Carpenter says. “It can be both great and bad to score over images, which is what I’m used to. Here there were no pressures. No actors asking me what they’re supposed to do. No crew waiting. No cutting room to go to. No release pending. It’s just fun. And I couldn’t have a better set-up at my house, where I depended on (collaborators) Cody (Carpenter, of the band Ludrium) and Daniel (Davies, who wrote the songs for I, Frankenstein) to bring me ideas as we began improvising. The plan was to make my music more complete and fuller, because we had unlimited tracks. I wasn’t dealing with just analogue anymore. It’s a brand new world. And there was nothing in any of our heads when we started other than to make it moody.”
As is Carpenter’s style, repetition is the key to the thundering power of these tracks, their energy swirling with shredding chords, soaring organs, unnerving pianos and captivating percussion. Horror fans will be reminded of Carpenter’s past works, as well as ancestors like Mike Oldfeld’s Tubular Bells and Goblin’s Suspiria.
“They’re little moments of score from movies made in our imaginations,” Carpenter says.“Now I hope it inspires people to create films that could be scored with this music.” - Sacred Bones Records

About Basmint:
"Bassmint Productions, later known as Soul Intent, was an American record label and hip hop group formed by Detroit brothers Jeff & Mark Bass. As Bassmint Productions didn't have enough money for studio time, they started their own label that only lasted from 1988 to 1995. Bassmint Productions consisted of rappers Eminem (M&M), Proof, Chaos Kid, Mannix and DJ Buttafingas, and the group released several demo tapes, including Steppin' onto the Scene, Still in the Bassmint and Soul Intent. On the 5th of October 2011 rapper Chaos Kid was found dead after committing suicide in the early hours of the morning, it was reported that he had struggled with mental illness for many years before his eventual suicide."
Check out a cinematic street vision and portrayal of the MC as a lethal weapon as MC Rhythm and his DJ Flynt become a duo of Hip Hop assassins. "The Soul of Designer Records is a treasure trove of lost gospel and soul music from the Memphis-based Designer Records label. The new four-CD set contains 101 songs from the small label, most of which were recorded between 1967 and 1977. This was the peak of the "Memphis sound," as exemplified by such artists as Booker T., Al Green, and the Staple Singers, and those influences are evident throughout the set. While the lyrics to these songs profess a faith eternal, the music suggests even more." - seattlepi.com

Dali represents a special collaborative moment in time, captured in aural form, between Record Breakin's own "lil'dave and vocalist Lisa Preston (aka LP).
Lil'dave is a Philadelphia-based audio tastemaker who has made a name for himself by exposing people to soulful music in all it's forms. As a DJ, he can easily whip the most mainstream crowd into a frenzy, but he is at his best when he digs deep into his crates for funky grooves, broken boogie, and thumping bass. When it comes to making music, lil'dave's productions draw from his hiphop roots, as well as his love of house, afrobeat, uk garage, salsa, jazz, synthesizers, and soul. He has released music as lil'dave, Illvibe Collective, and under his electronic alias, Osage.
Lisa Preston (aka LP) hails from New Zealand and is part of the extended Record Breakin' family, through her collaborations with Sir Froderick and Dotmatic. She first came to the attention of Record Breakin through her collaboration with UK producer K15 and the release of their ep "A New Path".

Dutch producer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and performer Jasper Wijnands AKA Shook is set to release second album 'Spectrum'. This album explores his multi-facetted synthesizer sound, combining modern day production technology with musical elements and compositions stemming from the '70s and '80s.
First single 'Violet Hues' is riddled with a boatload of both modern and classic synth-sounds and accompanied by smooth vocals, characterized by the vintage Shook-sound, but with a more developed musical pallet. Ransom Note coined it "Think Blonde Redhead mixed by Johnny Jewel...One of the best tracks of the year".
On latest single 'New Horizons', Harder Blogger Faster describes Shook "on imperious form as he weaves delicate live instrumentation against fretting guitars and doughty basslines for a seriously laid-back slice of warm disco".
His ability to blend his skills as a pure instrumentalist, as well as a university schooled producer, into a modern, popular sound, are the main ingredients for his current success. Playing classical compositions from the likes of Khachaturian and Bach in school, and practicing work from Antonio Carlos Jobim and Chick Corea in his free time, he gradually developed his own unique skillset, combining elements of classical, jazz, latin, soul, and funk. The characteristic sound partially originates from his use of historically renowned analog synthesizers, with every part recorded live in his home studio in the Netherlands.
Get down to the sounds as French Hip Hop crew utilize modern Funk and smoothness to re-envision a Soul classic. Aelpéacha ft. Dogg Master, ESPE and SOB keep it gangsta with their G-Funk reworking of The Floaters'"Float On". Sparked by shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson Missouri, singer Carleen Anderson and keyboardist producer Ahmed Sirour each express feelings of mourning, reflection and social consciousness through music. "Grains of Dust" composed, written and sung by Carleen for the Welsh National Opera is a powerful voice of hope and frredom which is driven by inspiring and uplifting African music, featuring the percussive instruments by Crispin Luke Robinson.
Ahmed Sirour's somber mood on "BLACK REQUIEM (Cristo Redentor)" borrows inspiration from the late/great Donald Byrd's Jazz classic "Cristo Redentor" (from 1963). This new subtle rendition is a great fit to project many feelings which he and others have inside as they reflect upon the past and present social problems of America.

Let the cinematic moods of composers Giuseppe De Luca, Carlos Pes & I MARC 4 take you for a ride on 3 reissues by Italian label SONAR. With soundtracks rich in mood and imagination ranging from dark and ominous, jazz and mellow to groovy Funk, each album offers a look into the moving sound which many European composers during the 1970s remain admired for. Enjoy the streams and hear what the label has to say about each project below:
Peppino De Luca / I MARC 4
Originally released on 'cult' Pegaso promotional label, "THE MAN WITH ICY EYES" soundtrack was pressed on very few copies like all Pegaso editions 'out of commerce', becoming a truly sought-after gem among Record Collectors of the genre. Trombonist and arranger Giuseppe De Luca, who died shortly after, wrote this magnificent score in 1971, ripping off the main theme from "Lady In Cement" by Hugo Montenegro from the same year. The high music in here is played by the MARC 4 (Maurizio Majorana on bass, Carlo Pes on guitar, Antonello Vannucchi organ) feat. Giuseppe De Luca at trumpet and Vincenzo Restuccia at drums. Magnificent vocals by the best scatting queen Edda Dell'Orso and chorus by I Cantori Moderni Di Alessandroni. KILLER!
Carlo Pes - UN UOMO DALLA PELLE DURA
Crazy RARE in demand soundtrack LP originally released on the highly sought-after promotional label "PEGASO" Edizioni Musicali. Music by Maestro Carlo Pes here, the "C" guitarist from the infamous quartet I MARC 4 which also probably plays on this session. The amazing Jazz-Funk track "Tough Guy" is the main theme of the record and it's delivered in 3 different versions. Crazy tunes like the tensed dramatic "Morte di un Hippie", the great Lounge track "Relaxing in New Mexico" with nice Hammond improvisations, guitar and flute, and "Murder On The Set", fantastic cinematic Score; Bossa-Jazz on "Joinin' the Swimming Pool" with some nice piano among the others. Top record, not to be missed!
I MARC 4 - G.L.P. 1004
We're glad to announce the reissue of this gem by the Library 'cult' group I MARC 4. ORIGINALLY RELEASED Oct 1970 on NELSON RECORDS label, cat#. GLP 1004, Italy. Ed. "Scogliera". Probably the toughest and most Psychedelic Nelson volume by the Marc 4. Killer blend of Downtempo Funk, atmospherics, and Lounge Bossa/Cocktail. Contains fantastic tracks as "Distorsion-Mind" and "The Trip", heavy Psych with screaming organ, and "Compression", mellow laid back acoustic guitar with the fat raw Drums Break plus other rare and raw tracks with sounds samples and loops. Great sessions!

In working with a range of Hip Hop artists for production and sample replays, musicians G Koop and O-Man have their own insight into beat culture and provide gems on their vintage synth-based recreation of the classic "Switched On Bach" by Wendy Carlos. This prelude has been re-intrepreted on the classic Juno 106 synth and is rounded out with Fender Jazz Bass. At 70 BPM this kit has everything from staccato glitches to smooth leads and is ready to chop and flip.
Instruments which G and O use for their replay of "Switched On Bach" include Juno 106 basses and leads, Fender Jazz Bass, (8 separated tracks total).
Enjoy the trailer which brings you straight into the duo's studio where they demonstrate the sinister sound of this project. Below is an example of a beat using the sounds from this kit.
Holocaust Sunz cross the line and cock the nine with a militant approach and talent for storytelling in Hip Hop on "To Kill a Prophet". This cinematic tale which merges religious and street imagery in the vein of Sunz Of Man and Killarmy comes from the full-length LP "Black Sunday".

"Five years ago, Gray started The Original Hip Hop Chocolates in his former home in L.A.'s Echo Park, hawking his handmade treats on hip-hop nights at Los Angeles clubs like The Mayan and The Virgil, and at shows featuring Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah, Killah Priest and Adrian Younge, and Venice Dawn.
For the thirty-eight-year-old, selling chocolate turntables is not all about making money. He wants people who consume his sweet creations to see it as a kind of “religious experience,” comparing it to the act of communion when Catholics consume a wafer symbolizing the Body of Christ.
Various products produced by Marcus Gray, founder of The Original Hip Hop Chocolates.
Just as Catholics gather to witness a wafer transform into the flesh of Christ, Gray sees his chocolate creations as the embodiment of hip-hop spirituality with the power to bring together lovers of the culture.
He believes hip-hop — its turntableism, b-boyin, graffiti, lyricism and beatboxing — is a belief system, a faith, that has been reflected in the culture’s films, photos, clothing and language. It makes sense to Gray that it should be reflected in chocolate too.
“What I am doing here is creating a sacred food for hip-hop,” he says. “My intention is to create something that people can put in their bodies, and at the same time reflect on what hip-hop means to them and their lives.”"
